Revisit to Lavender Food Court, a place where there is lots of good food to savour. This time I'll be talking about Beijing Delights. Basically it's a stall which sells a mixture of items. You can get noodles, some zhi char items as well as stuff like xiao long bao. Question is, being a jack of all trades, will it be a master of none?

My mom likes to eat the chicken cutlet noodles served at this stall, somehow she always ends up eating this dish when we come to Lavender Food Court. Her stand is that the noodles are nicer than Kok Kee Wantan Mee, which is a few stalls away. And she also says it's more value for money since you get a big piece of chicken, compared to the few pieces of char siew and small wantans Kok Kee offers. Honestly, I've never tried Kok Kee Wantan Mee before, so I won't know what all the hype is about it. Always see long queues for their noodles though. Should try it one day, I know they're about til like 2am in the morning.

Anyway back to the question at hand, is this chicken cutlet noodles really all that fantastic like my mom claims??? Taste test reveals that the noodles are quite springy, texture is quite nice though it's a bit softer than what I would find to be ideal noodle texture. The sauce with the noodles is somewhat sweetish but the chilli sauce that goes with it will smooth that out. The chicken is freshly fried and served hot and crispy. Nice, juicy and tender! Overall it's a very satisfying meal that at $3, proves to be great value for money! If you want an alternative to chicken, there is a pork cutlet version available as well.
Ok where to next?
