Sounds impressive huh? haha but the recipes are easy to prepare.

Here we can see the green peppers after I removed the centres. I put them in the oven for 15mins 1st to sorta cook them before I added the stuffing.

After I finished preparing all the stuff I needed for the food, it was time to stone and wait for the time to come to cook the food. Was done by about 345am. So I left all the food in the kitchen and went to hide in my room to play sudoku to pass time. But cruel fate would deal me a lousy hand! 4+am and it started to rain! Wah sian.... whenever it rains my mom sure wake up to close windows and take in the clothes. Damn all my food is lying on the kitchen counter! Oh well... bo bian I guess. just pretend I don't know anything ba. Haha...
Finally 5.30am came....! But!........ I fell asleep.... Wah spoiler right?? Even though I set my alarm i just switched it off when it rang. Haha. Next thing I know my dad woke me up, luckily he did though, otherwise there goes breakfast! Was already 615am and my mom woke up le. Oh well, sheepishly walked into the kitchen and start to prepare the food... Mom didn't say a word and neither did I. So guess both of us were pretending we dunno what each other is up to? Hahaha...
Finally after slogging in the kitchen for awhile, breakfast was served!

The omelet looks a bit burnt huh? But actually it wasn't la, tasted pretty good in fact. Bet I fail for presentation though, the dish looks really plain without any sides or sauces. Well no matter, wished my mom happy mothers day and got a hug and a peck on the cheek from my appreciative mother. Pops joined in for breakfast too, and saved my brother's share for when he woke up a bit later. Mom said it was a bit too filling for her though, with the meat, egg and what not. Oh well, everything was gone with no scraps left! Either they really liked it... or.... they were just being nice by finishing everything. Hahaha I believe its the former rather than latter la. =)
Was sposed to do the crepes too but didn't have time, had to get ready to go to church already. Man by this time I was dead tired. Haven't had my 40 winks yet! Ended up bathing and falling asleep on my bed. =X
Made the banana crepes for tea though and everyone raved about it. Apparently it was a damn delicious! Didn't have enough to go around later on cause I only made a small portion of batter. Not enough bananas too cause everyone wanted more. So I guess overall my mother's day meal was a big success. =) Didn't know which pic to post so I shall put both.

Well enough of my long winded story la time to list down the recipes.
Stuffed Green Peppers
Serves 4
200gm ground beef
4 green peppers
chopped onions (see how much you wanna put, I used about 1/2 a big onion)
mushrooms ( I used fresh white button mushrooms but you can use canned ones, I used 5 mushrooms)
spagetti sauce (I used about 1/2 a bottle of stromboli sauce)
mozerella cheese
Cut off the top of the peppers, remove the insides. Cook the peppers. Some people cook them in boiling water, others roast them over an open flame. I chose to stick them for 15 mins in my oven. Remove and leave to cool.
Heat up the pan and add some oil. Fry onions til they turn colour, then add in beef.
Fry til beef changes colour, add in mushrooms and fry a little while more. Season with some salt and pepper.
Add in spagetti sauce and cheese and cook till cheese melts. I realised stromboli sauce is not so thick so I should have added some tomato puree to the mix. Might have made it thicker instead of being so watery. Other spag sauces like leggos tends to be thicker.
Fill the peppers up til almost full of the stuffing. Top it off with a hearty amount of cheese and bake in the oven on 150 degrees for about 15 mins or until the cheese starts to brown.
Omelet
Don't think i really need to explain this dish right?
Serves 1
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
salt
pepper
filling (up to you. i used green peppers, onions and mushrooms. It's all up to your own creativity)
Whisk eggs with milk, salt and pepper.
Heat up and oil your pan. Pour in the egg mixture and spread it out in a circular motion. Throw in your fillings. Once the egg cooks you can fold it in half and serve. Be careful with your spatula when you're trying to remove it from the pan though. Has a tendency to break the omelet if you're not careful.
Banana cream
Already posted the crepe recipe, so here's the filling
Enough for 4 crepes or more.
4 bananas, sliced (Can add more bananas because there was quite a lot of sauce and not enough bananas)
1 bottle of heavy cream ( I used bulla heavy cream 300ml)
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp cinnamon
Heat up all the items except the bananas over low heat.
Once the mixture starts to boil throw in the bananas and allow it to cook. Stir occasionally. Once it comes to a boil again remove from heat.
Dish out onto your crepes and fold. You can leave extra bananas or sauce on the side.
OK! That's it for me for today. I think these recipes were pretty easy. Not too much preparation time involved either. Some things can also be done in advanced like the crepe batter so it makes it easier. Shall blog about some makan I had tmr or something. Over and out!
