Ok mothers day is coming, and being the sweet son that I am, decided that I shall cook something for my mom to surprise her! Was searching on the internet for easy recipes to make the whole of last night and finally came up with a few which I think I'll use. So today I experimented on this crepe recipe I found online. Had to test it out before I feed my mom, don't want her to be eating horrible stuff! I tweaked the recipe abit because I want it to be a dessert kinda crepe. So here goes:
Makes approx 4 crepes, you can double the recipe to make more.
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup water
1/8 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter, melted
1 tbsp sugar
Mix the eggs, milk, butter and water together
Sift in the flour. Add in sugar and salt. Mix well until smooth.
Basically thats all for the batter! Easy ain't it?
Then just heat up the pan on medium heat, oil it abit and just ladle about a 1/4 cup of batter into the pan. Spread out the batter by tilting the pan in a circular motion until the batter coats the surface evenly. Cook until the crepe is starting to brown. Loosen with a spatula, turn and cook the other side.
Voila! That's it! My 1st attempt wasn't so good because I didn't spread out the batter evenly enough so the crepe wasn't exactly very round. But the taste was pretty nice, sweetish and crispy at the edges. Will go gd with fruits, chocolate sauce and ice cream! Lets see how it goes this sunday when I make it with bananas and sweet cream sauce!
